In response to the start of proceedings to evict the Star Peace Camp, a 6-berth trailer home was added last Friday to the tents and banners.

Today, the owners of the land on which the camp is located, obtained a Repossession Order for the land, granted by Whitby County Court.

Four of the campers and supporters, who attended the court, spoke about their concerns for the global environment from the threat of Star Wars, and their Right to freedom of expression and  to assemble and demonstrate, which is enshrined in the Human Rights Act. It was acknowledged that no damage has been done to the land by the occupants.

The next 'move' is for the owners, the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, to serve Notice to Quit (before that we might go to appeal - but the outcome is inevitable).

If there is no departure in the time allowed, then the owners have to go back to court for an Enforcement Order.

If there's no response to that, then it's the Bailiffs.

Meanwhile there are other places to move...this could be a long story...
