Missiles at Fylingdales?
Read Yorkshire CND's assessment here.
"Enemies intent on using weapons of mass destruction would see the need to take on our infrastructure, of which the ballistic missile warning radars would be a very important and perhaps the most vulnerable part."
Air Marshal Sir Timothy Garden, former Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff

Visitors to the picturesque and remote Fylingdales Moor in North Yorkshire are often surprised at the giant truncated pyramid that marks the whereabouts of the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) radar at "RAF" Fylingdales.

One thing that may not be so obvious is that this system is probably the most significant strategic installation in Yorkshire and is of direct relevance to plans for the United States’ Ballistic Missile Defence system.

Find out more about Fylingdales, the threat it poses to Yorkshire and the UK, its key role in aggresive foreign policy, and the campaign against it, here, at The Fylingdales Site
