Parliament VoteThe House of Commons vote to replace Trident was taken on 14th March 2007. 167 MPs voted to support an amendment to postpone the decision and 161 MPs voted against the motion to replace Trident. This was the biggest Labour back bench rebellion on a domestic issue since coming to power in 1997.The government promised that the vote was not 'irreversible' and that MPs would have the chance to vote on Trident replacement again. The next phase will come to parliament sometime after the Non-Proliferation Review Conference and the general election in May 2010.
