No Trident Replacement
Trident is the UK's nuclear weapons system and is based at Faslane, near Glasgow in Scotland. There are four Trident submarines. Each submarine can carry up to 48 nuclear warheads, each eight times as powerful as the bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 killing an estimated 140,000 people.

One Trident warhead aimed at a city could kill over a million people as well as causing severe injuries to countless others, destroying almost the entire infrastructure and radioactively contaminating the whole area and beyond for decades to come.

If all the warheads from one submarine were fired at once, it could wipe out a population around the size of the UK. Britain has been nuclear armed since 1952, buying into the US nuclear weapons system Polaris from 1968 to 1996 and Trident from 1994.
