No to U.S. Missile Defence
|
US Missile Defence is part of US' strategy for full military domination of land, air, sea, space and information. The US describes it as a defensive system as it allows the US to shoot down incoming missiles. In reality it will enable the US to attack other countries without fear of retaliation. It formed a major part of the “Star Wars” proposal suggested by President Reagan and has also sparked controversy under the Presidency of George W Bush by provoking a new arms race with an increased likelihood of nuclear weapons use. Iran's long range missiles as well as North Korea's ambitions have been cited as the reason for US Missile Defence. There are two components in the UK at Fylingdales and Menwith Hill both in North Yorkshire. |
